Dear future me, The woman I want to be is passionate and confident and isn’t afraid to stand up for what she believes in. I want to be happy with my self-image. I want to be proud to look in the mirror and go, I want you to know that you are perfect just the way you are. I want you to always have hope. To believe in your abilities that are unique – it’s time to show the world what you can do. I want you to have destroyed the idea that loving yourself is overrated. Destroy your fear of failure because you will succeed at whatever you set your mind to. Destroy. the fear of being confident because you deserve to believe in yourself and you are a naturally bubbly person. You are allowed to fail and make mistakes because every failure and mistake is an opportunity to learn. Accept your flaws and encourage yourself. Developing self-love takes time. You are a masterpiece in progress who is endlessly creating herself. Your mistakes and others’ mistakes do not define you. Most importantly, be yourself. Don’t be ashamed of that gorgeous body or those muscles (so what if they are bigger than the boys’); don’t change for anyone but yourself. Be someone who makes you happy. Who you are proud to be. Have the courage to be completely you. You are in charge of your happiness. Know what pieces of your life you need to leave to fate. Friendships, relationships and people who come into your life – let whatever happens, happen. If they are meant to be, they will be. Don’t stress about it. More importantly know what pieces of your life to take charge of, these being your goals, aspirations, work and work ethic. Take advantage of any opportunity thrown at you. Don’t be afraid to make your own opportunities. Be the woman who decided to go for it. Be the woman who wasn’t afraid to fight for what she wanted. You want so much from life and you will achieve it all if you step out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself, but don’t beat yourself up for any mistakes along the way. Above all else, choose joy and keep choosing it. Joy is easy to come across if you have an open heart, appreciate everything; every small act of kindness towards you is a gift from God. Always be kinder than you have to be and always put your heart and soul into everything you do. Now is not the time to complain. Jealousy can consume gratitude in an instant, so focus on the blessings God gives you and not what you don’t have. Lastly, make sure that you are living your life for yourself because you are the writer of your life. Take the challenges of life in your stride and don’t take life too seriously. Live in the moment in everything you do and stay close to those who make you happy. They say that the best people with good hearts have a glow, so delight people with your aura and don’t let anyone get you down. Live a life you will be proud to look back on.
